Merapoh Pahang

We manage to snap few pixs while on travelling back to KL after hari raya's holiday. This long Q situation is quite normal for every kelantaneses who choose to drive by Gua Musang town heading Klang Valley.
If normal trip will take around 8 hour for 450km long journey (maybe shorter for Schumi's driving style drivers), for festive season like this it could be up to 12 hours.

pics taken at Bukit Tujuh, Merapoh Pahang.

How to avoid paying tol when using highway.........it's true

Before we go for the title above, i think many of us forgotten about the news below which was published in our mainstream newspapers around a few days after our fuel price at pump went up to RM2.70/litre for petrol Ron 97.

Any of you knows the outcome? or simply we can say Melayu Mudah Lupa.

-- Bernama, Reuters.

As for answer to the title let's look at the pictures below....I don't know whether it's a joke or not but i just came across this at Jln Duta Tol.

Which Cars Have the Best Gas Mileage?

Businessweek magazine reveal to us what's the best car in fuel consumption. Unfortunately, not all of these car sold/available in Malaysia market. Most of the car also run hybridly (mix of petrol and electric) which is still not familiar to our road due to high price and lack incentive from government so far. Toyota Prius 2008 (pix below) topping the chart with 46mpg (mile per gallon) (1 gallon equivalent to 4.5460 liter and 1 mile equivalent to 1.6 kilometre).

For a simple calculation, it's consume around 16 km per liter - as comparison my auto perodua myvi can run up to 14 km per liter.

Crazy Taxi in Russia Porsche & Maybach

spot the pixs at autoworld blog. how crazy the russians are?

In U.Kingdom, Porsche Cayenne sold between 36k - 75K while Maybach 62 priced around 290K pound sterling.
As for comparison, a middle class car such as brand new Honda Civic sold between 15k - 18k in U.K which is sold between RM113k-RM128 here in Malaysia.
So can you expect the price for the both (Porsche Cayenne have been seen on our road imported by grey importers)?
and can you expect the extent of craziness of Russians?

PROTON NEEDS SALES OF 250,000 ANNUALLY TO REMAIN WITHOUT PARTNER

How Proton would react to this news?

National car maker Proton will need to step up sales to about 250,000 units annually for it to remain independently viable, says an industry analyst. Proton will need a strategic partner in the next 3-5 years if it is not able to do this, said Frost & Sullivan head of automotive & transportation practice,Asia Pacific, Kavan Mukhtyar."The existing annual volume of around 100,000 units is financially a bit challenging for it to keep developing new models," he told a media briefing onthe auto industry's outlook for this year. Frost & Sullivan forecasts total industry sale volume in Malaysia to increase seven percent to 521,200 units this year from an estimated 487,000units in 2007.The growth will be driven by sales replacement cars, he said, adding that a substantial number of people who bought their vehicles between 2001 and 2003 maybe looking at replacing their cars in 2008. He said the consumers are more likely to replace their cars near the end of their loan period if their outstanding loans can be covered by the trade-in value of their vehicles.
